First, some background. The Next Linear Collider Test Accelerator or NLCTA is a particle accelerator prototype at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. It is a shorter version of a proposed future linear accelerator that will be built at some point in the mid-term future. Before a full blown accelerator (based on NLCTA) can be built, a lot of research and measurements need to take place.
Today I started managing the installation of a new accelerator section at NLCTA. There are a lot of technical details, so I think a quick photo journal of some of the high points is probably the best way to tackle the proceedings of the day...
